I hope your year is starting off smoothly and wildly successful! This month's workout is centered around "Journey", exploring the direction you would like to take this year to achieve what you most want. Like a Personal fitness trainer for your body, a Personal Coach is for your mind, heart and soul! I welcome your insights, experiences, comments and questions.

Choosing YOUR Journey in 2003
We are all on a journey, our own personal path towards fulfillment. Sometimes, we know where we are going; we are clear about our purpose and direction. Other times, we are lost, in the midst of fog, in the midst of resignation and lost hope. Whether we have clarity or not, how often do we stop to consider who this journey is REALLY for? In other words, are you on a path that YOU have chosen, or SOMEONE ELSE has chosen for you? Are you setting goals this year towards achieving what you want, or what others want of you?

It really takes something to step out and discover and declare what YOU really want for yourself, what really lights YOU up, what brings you true aliveness. And then, to go after it! When was the last time you felt FULLY alive? When was the last time you had the biggest grin on your face? Has it been a long time? If so, this is the time to finally STOP. Take a moment to consider what brings YOU fully alive, what is it that you truly want this year. What is it that puts a big grin on your face?

Have you wanted to start your own business? Do a triathlon? Take that retreat vacation, or write that book that you've been thinking about? What's that idea or dream you have had for so long that's been brewing in the back of your mind? Whatever it is that you have been craving - It's time to bring it out into the world and experience it!

Life is too precious for us to wait any longer to have or do what brings us full aliveness! We have been given this life to fully experience our true magnificence, aliveness and joy. Each of us has gifts and talents, desires and longings that the world deserves to see. We owe it to each other to bring those into the world. The time is NOW. The wait is over!

I invite you this month to take on the monthly workout below and discover what brings you fully alive and incorporate that into your life TODAY. Our path to fulfillment lies in uncovering the truth of who we are and living it. May you take time out for stillness to discover your truth and follow it. May you live with aliveness and joy and walk the path that most fulfills you.

Monthly Workout: Discovering your Aliveness
Take some time out to begin to answer these simple, yet profound questions below. (Remember, there are no "right" answers). Notice the impact these questions have and what possibilities exist TODAY out of taking this exercise on.
  1. What does "aliveness" mean to you?
  2. Think of a time you felt fully alive, where you were so immersed that you lost track of time. What were you doing? What did you experience? What was present? Who else was there?
  3. What was it about that experience that you so enjoyed? What were the qualities of that experience?
What you have identified is the very core of what brings you alive in your life. If you can identify those qualities, values, experiences that bring you full aliveness, you then have the key to bringing more of it into your life.

Now, Pick one of the qualities you experienced that brought you full aliveness. What is one way you can incorporate more of this quality into your life IMMEDIATELY? Commit to one action step you will take on to bring more aliveness into your life.
