Watch for the Signs
Have you ever had one of those days where nothing went right? Meetings got cancelled, your computer crashes, or you were rushing around and suddenly twisted your ankle in the frenzy of it all? Or, perhaps, you had an amazing day where things just went so smoothly, you were flying high as a kite!

We have good days and bad days, but we don’t always take the time to step back and say, “Hmm…what was that all about?” It’s not to say you have to analyze every little thing that happens or evaluate every circumstance you encounter. But, when something substantial does happen or you notice the same patterns or feelings come up, those are great times to watch for the signs. We think we are the “Directors” of our life, but as stated in one of my favorite books, “The Invisible Path to Success”, by Robert Scheinfeld, there are unseen forces that can shape our life that we are not even conscious of.

When we become more aware and conscious of events that happen, instead of being conditioned to move to the next thing, we can begin to see how a “bad” day could actually prove to help us. For example, when that meeting got cancelled, it may have given you just enough extra time to prepare for something that evening. Or, when your computer crashed, it forced you to finally take the time to setup a secure backup process. Or, when you twisted your ankle, you had no choice but to slow down and in slowing down, you got to read those much desired novels sitting on your shelf. And, in reading them, you came up with a brilliant business idea.

You may have heard the phrase, “there is no such thing as coincidence”. As you look at things that have happened to you, and what you were able to do as a result (or not do), you may begin to notice that what might have seemed “coincidental”, was not at all! And, as future events, circumstances and wonderful things happen to you, take a step back and ask yourself, “What is this now allowing me to do? Or be? Or have?” Begin to view the “stuff” that happens, as golden nuggets of learning, experience and wisdom. As Deepok Chopra states, “When you live your life with an appreciation of coincidences and their meanings, you connect with the underlying field of infinite possibilities.”

May you experience “infinite possibilities” the rest of this year and may you appreciate and watch for the signs along the way.

Cheers,

Monthly Workout: Watch for the Signs
Think back on the last week. Are there any patterns, frustrations or recurring feelings you remember having. What specific situations occurred or circumstances did you experience? If you cannot think of anything substantial, look back at the last month. With the situation, circumstance, pattern or recurring feeling in mind, take on the following questions and process:

  1. When you think back, what did the situation or feeling allow you to do, be or have?
  2. What is one positive thing that came out of the experience? How can you apply that to other areas of your life?
  3. What is one negative thing that came out of the experience? What is the greatest lesson learned and how can you apply that to other areas of your life?
  4. What if this wasn’t a coincidence, but merely an event that happened to help you learn something about yourself? If so, what do you think the greatest learning is?
  5. How can you begin to watch for signs in the future when other situations arise?
  6. What’s a new perspective you now have on things that happen in your life?
I look forward to hearing what you experience! (please e-mail me at jdigi@thinkpeople.com)

Poem of the Month: Being of Service

We may not always see the good in something,
until we have gone through the experience.
We may not recognize the meaning it has in our life right away.
But, once we open our eyes and become conscious to what is happening,
All of life’s lessons, wisdom and riches are revealed to us each day.
